President Cup is back!

The opening ceremony of the President Cup will take place in WERK ARENA on Friday, August 9th, but young players will know their opponents much earlier! The draw will take place about a week before the face-off and will be live streamed through the President Cup´s Facebook page.

The tournament system itself will also be changed! First games will be played on Friday´s afternoon and group stage will be concluded one day later on Saturday August 10th. On Sunday morning semi-finals and matches for 5th - 8th place will take place, in the afternoon players will be able to relax from the tough competition and if the weather will be pleasent they will change cool atmosphere of hockey stadiums for relax at a nearby swimming pool. Final, bronze medal game and final placement matches will be played on the fourth day of the tournament on Monday August 12th. Complete schedule will be published after the draw.

Now let´s introduce all the participants! Four teams will be from Czech Republic, including home teams Oceláři Třinec, Sparta Praha from the capital city, Energie Karlovy Vary will travel across the whole country, and Vítkovice from Ostrava will also arrive for the fifth time.

Both Russian winners of previous years - CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl - will retorn to Třinec and the youngsters of HS Riga will try to build on the bronze medal from their last perfomance. For the first time a Swedish teams will arrive, Malmö Redhawks will try to upset the Russian powerhouses.

The President Cup could not be organized without the support of the Moravian-Silesian Region and other event partners such as KARTA Group, Finclub and city of Třinec.
